stretching back to the Neolithic and early Bronze Ages.We
will take you on a guided tour of city's most fascinating
archaeological sites, including the Ancient City, the 16th
century temple of Apollo and
the impressive theatre - originally built by the Greeks,
enlarged by the Romans and not discovered until 1935. The
theatre now stages Shakespearean plays, concerts and operas.
This trip will explore the ancient capital city of Cyprus,
Nicosia, and one of the most interesting mixtures of architectural
styles in Europe. Surrounded by the famous city walls, built
by the Venetian army in 1567, many of Nicosia´s historic
buildings have survived and there is a wealth of fine 14th
and 15th century churches, palaces and monasteries. We will also wander around Laiki Yitonia, an old Nicosian
neighbourhood of narrow streets and tavernas, recently
restored to its original charm, and the

Gate, dating from the renaissance, is the most impressive.
It houses Nicosia´s Cultural Centre and regularly holds
exhibitions and cultural events.
Both relaxing and exhilarating, our sailing cruises around
